The Heart of Christmas - Week 2

HoC_Header

Hi there

Welcome to week 2 of our new weekly inspiration all about Christmas, from the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team. This week I wanted to bring you a simple layout for a Christmas card that lends itself to mass production. Mass production means different things to each of us; it could be 5 or 50 or somewhere in between! I find it pretty hard not to tweak or change the design, so having a layout that accommodates that, makes it easier. This layout is perfect for combining different designer papers, greetings and embellishments.

Stampin' Up! Be Merry DSP & Merry Mistletoe - Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I picked up my box of new goodies from the post office today and broke open the new 'Be Merry' designer paper. It has a nice range of light and solid designs in Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and white and I've used two of the designs for the background of my card. I added the designer paper to a piece of Whisper White card stock as I think it makes it easier to position all the elements and wrap the ribbon around, before mounting the panel onto the thick Whisper White card base.

The lovely greeting is from the new 'Merry Misteltoe' stamp set, cropped with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the ribbon is the new silver Metallic-Edge. The reindeer from 'Santa's Sleigh' was stamped in Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake card stock. I added some subtle highlights with Crumb Cake ink and a Blender pen and popped him up on dimensionals.

For the inside I have used another greeting from the 'Merry Mistletoe' stamp set and added a strip from the new Decorative Ribbon Border punch at the bottom, for a simple finish. I love that there is a greeting for the inside of the card too.
