A Holly Jolly Christmas
October 13, 2016
Hi there
Today I'm sharing one of the cards that we made in class recently. Is is an elegant white on white card with traditional Christmas trims. This is a great design if you want to make a bunch of cards in a hurry and who doesn't want that, as we rush towards the Christmas season.
I have used the 'Holly' embossing folder that was new in this years Annual Catalogue. It doesn't look much until you see it embossed and then wow, it is such a crisp, clean design and works so well in a white on white card.
The centrepiece on the red and gold band is one of the lovely stamps from the Hostess stamp set 'Holly Jolly Layers'. It is well named as all of the stamps in the set work beautifully with the Layered Circles, Squares and Ovals Framelits. I have die cut the stamped image with a plain circle, but you can also use a scalloped circle. For the holly, I have used Stampin' Write markers directly to the rubber to colour the image and then die cut it and popped it up over the top of the larger image. This close up image shows off the beautiful embossed holly design.
For the inside, I have stamped the holly spray from the 'Embellished Ornaments' set in the top corner and used the 1/8" punch to add some red berries to it. At the base is the red spotty design from the Candy Cane Lane washi set and a little strip of Gold Glimmer.

That is a beautiful "clean and simple" card Judy. The embossing folder is lovely - may have to invest in that one.
