CASE-ing the Catty - Candy Cane Lane

CTC_Blog_Banner_edited

Hi there

At CASE-ing the Catty this week we are looking at the brand new Holiday Catalogue for the first time. The 'Candy Cane Lane' suite is first up.  The designer paper is gorgeous - Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and white are such a fabulous colour combination for Christmas.

You may have come here from Deb's Blog, but if you are visiting me, you can start your journey here and continue by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

I've taken my inspiration from this gift bag on page 4 0f the catalogue.

Instead of a gift bag, I have made a card using the same background of the striped washi from the Candy Cane Lane washi set on the Real Red card stock. I've also stamped the gingerbread image from the 'Cookie Cutter Christmas' stamp set but mine are in Early Espresso to make a bold contrast against the red. I've joined them with a heart cut from the Crumb Cake design (it has tiny Christmas trees and spots on it) using the new white baker's twine that has a red metallic thread through it. The greeting is also from the same stamp set.

For the inside, I've used some of the Crumb Cake design at the base of the writing panel topped with a Real Red  strip. The star is from one of the other designs of the Candy Cane Lane DSP. It fits perfectly with the smallest of the Stars Framelits so you can die cut it for a quick and easy embellishment.

Judy I love is. I did look at the bag and wanted to try it but I think I like your card better. I especially like the boy and girl options -so simple but effective, just moving the bow.

I love it Judy! Such a wonderful CASE featuring 3D projects converted into beautiful cards. Great job! P.S SO cute - the gingerbread men holding the heart!

The washi tape looks amazing on the real red. Thankyou for the wonderful inspiration.

Oh wow I didn't realise it was washi tape when I first saw this in the catalogue. This is really clever! Love how you turned it into a card.
