It is a cold, grey and wet Sunday here in Melbourne, but the CTC Crew will be adding lots of colour with projects from the 'Everyday Occasions' section of the new 2016-17 Annual Catalogue. This is a large section and so many great samples to CASE; it was so hard to choose, so I've got 2 projects to show you today. Plus, we have some new crew members joining us today, so please welcome Krissy Buck, Kelly Kent and Deb Speijers. Great to have you on board, ladies!
This is the Stampin' Up! sample from page 76 that I am CASE-ing today for my first card.
This new Detailed Floral Thinlits Die were used to create this elegant card. This is an incredibly detailed die and it is recommended that you used the new Big Shot Platform (that replaces the Standard Platform) with the Thin Die Adapter and the Precision Plate. Place both sections of the Detailed Floral Thinlits die onto your card stock at the same time and run it through the Big Shot. Move the cut piece to the foam mat and use the Die Brush to remove the bulk of the small pieces. I found most came away very easily and just a few left were easily removed with a craft knife or piercing tool.
For my card I am using Rich Razzleberry cardstock over a white card base, which really shows up the floral design. I have stamped the label border from the 'Rose Wonder' stamp set in Rich Razzleberry and the lovely greeting from the same set in black and popped it up over the strip of white organza ribbon. A little trio of pearls either side balances it and I have added a few extras in the centre of some of the flowers.
|Stamps||Rose Wonder, Flourishing Phrases|
|Card stock & Papers||Whisper White Thick, Rich Razzleberry, Brights DSP Stack|
|Ink||Rich Razzleberry, Memento Tuxedo Black|
|Accessories||White Organza Ribbon, Pearls Basic Jewels|
|Tools||Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies, Big Shot, Dimensionals|
For my second card, I have chosen this sample from page 84 of the catalogue. I love the black, pink and gold colour combo of the 'Pop of Pink' suite.
I have used the basic layout and changed things up a little bit as I don't have the 'Pop of Paradise' stamp set. For the main image, I have used the floral image from the 'Floral Phrases' stamp set in Melon Mambo and paired it with the hearts design paper. Instead of washi tape at the top, I have stamped and die cut a banner with the new 'Bunch of Banners' Framelits dies. The greeting which is heat embossed in white comes from the 'Crazy for You' stamp set. As it is photopolymer, I was able to add a gentle curve to follow the line of the banner.
The embossed greeting on the banner was fussy cut and layered over the full banner and that was popped up on foam pads for a very 3D effect. Apologies for the photo as it was getting very grey when I took it.
|Stamps||Floral Phrases, Crazy for You, Birthday Banners|
|Card stock & Papers||Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Gold Foil, Pop of Pink DSP|
|Ink||Versamark, Melon Mambo, Memento Tuxedo Black|
|Accessories||Metallic Enamel Shapes|
|Tools||Bunch of Banners Framelits, Hello You Thinlits, Big Shot, White EP, Heat gun, Dimensionals, Xyron|
