CASE-ing the Catty - Going Places
May 08, 2016
Hi there
It is lovely to be back CASE-ing the Catty tonight and the CTC Crew are taking their inspiration from the large 'Going Places' section of the Occasions Catalogue this week.
You may have come from Julia's Blog, but if you are visiting me, you can start your journey here and continue by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
I've taken my inspiration from these Stampin' Up! samples on Page 41 of the Occasions catty. I love sending thank you cards to customers and these cute square cards caught my eye. Covering the front of your card base edge t0 edge makes for a simple starting point and it is a great way to put your designer paper to use.
To make it economical I've cut a sheet of 12 x 12 Mint Macaron card stock into strips of 10cm x 20cm (4" x 8"). You can make 4 cards from a sheet. Cut a 10cm strip of designer paper and cut again into 10cm pieces. I'm using the ice cream cone design from the 'Birthday Bouquet' designer paper as the base for all the cards and I using the corner round to soften the bottom edge. This is what I came up with.
I have chosen 3 layouts from the samples. The first one has two narrow banners down the side and the thank you sentiment from the retired 'Lots of Thanks' punched out. The only variation to the layout is the Crumb Cake ribbon at the top (I couldn't help myself, lol).
This the second one I made, layering up my favourite thank you greeting from the 'One Big Meaning' stamp set on tags from the 'Tags & Labels' Framelits dies.
The last one is the simplest of the three, with the designer paper doing all the heavy lifting. I've put my greetings on the right side instead of the left and finished it with my favourite flower from the retiring Itty Bitty Punch pack.

Lovely thank you cards, the individual touches are very sweet. I like your hint for the cutting the 12" X 12" most economically.

Love your set of cards Judy! These colours are lovely and those round corners really suit the DSP.
