CASE-ing the Catty - Salebration Last Hurrah!

CTC_Blog_Banner_edited

Hello and Happy Easter!

This week the CASE-ing the Catty crew are taking their inspiration from the Saleabration catalogue for the final time. The Saleabration promotion finishes on 31 March 2016, so you still have a few more days to get your favourite product for FREE by placing an order for $90 of products from any of the current catalogues.

You may have come from Rachel's blog, but if you are visiting me, you can start your journey here by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

As it is Easter, I wanted to make a gift bag to fill with lots of chocolate goodies for a lovely friend . When I picked up the Saleabration brochure my eye went straight to this gift bag on the front cover.

That convinced me to break open my pack of 'Wildflower Fields' designer series paper that is one of the FREE Saleabration products. This IS a really lovely pack of paper with the coordinating colours of Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive and Hello Honey.  I decided to go with the same pretty floral design and teamed it with Lost Lagoon, which is one of  my favourite  soon-to-be-retiring In Colours. I made my basic bag with Whisper White card stock, so it is very sturdy and it measures 15cm x 19cm x 7.5cm (6" x 7.5" x 3"). Gift bags are very easy to make once you know the basics and all you need is your trimmer and Simply Scored Board .

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields Gift Bag - Judy May, Just Judy Designs

Before assembling the bag, I die cut an oval from the front and attached some Window Sheet (acetate) behind it, so you get a peak of the contents. I've used the 'Wildflower Fields' floral paper on the front and back, leaving the sides plain. The top is trimmed in Lost Lagoon and adds some extra sturdiness to the rim that supports the white satin ribbon handles.

I created the 3 banners as a set and attached them with a mini clothespin so they can be removed and the bag re-purposed. The flower embellishment on the side of the oval that was created with the Botanical Builder framelits takes centre stage when the banners are removed. I like that the bag is a gift as well as the contents.

Beautiful bag Judy, it show off the DSP so well. I love all the detailed explanation you always give about how you create things, and I love that the tag can be removed so that your lucky friend can repurpose the bag- so thoughtful.
