CASE-ing the Catty - For Easter

CTC_Blog_Banner_edited

Hi there

This week the CASE-ing the Catty crew are giving you some inspiration for your Easter projects.

I'm at the top of the list today, so you maybe coming from the CASE-ing the Catty blog, but if you are visiting me, you can start your journey here by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week I wanted to create some Easter projects using products I had on hand. In particular, the lovely 'Circle of Spring' stamp set that I bought in one of my first orders from this year's Annual Catalogue. I have mainly used the greetings from it as the font is lovely, but I haven't used the pretty floral wreath. This is the sample card from the Annual Catalogue.

I have chosen Mint Macaron for the base card and the matching striped designer paper from the In Colour pattern stack which is matted on Rose Red - love this colour combo. The wreath was stamped in Mossy Meadow and the leaves coloured in Mint Macaron to keep the same toning. The flowers were coloured with a blender pen and Blushing Bride and Rose Red ink pads and finished with tiny pearls in the centre.

This stamp set is so versatile with the greetings including not only Easter, but Mother's Day, birthday and thank you among others.  The Easter greeting was stamped in Rose Red and punched out with a 2" circle and attached to the striped panel with the wreath popped up on foam pads over the top. I have used the adorable bunny from the 'Made with Love' stamp set to add an Easter touch. He was water coloured on Shimmery White, so he has a subtle sparkle as well. I've used my favourite retired Rose Red seam binding ribbon for the bow. The finished striped panel was popped up on the base card as well.

For the inside, I used a strip of the Mint Macaron washi tape - the 2015-17 In Colour washi set is a Hostess option from the Occasions Catalogue. On top is a layered Petite Petals flower with a Mint Macaron enamel dot in the centre.

For my second Easter project, I couldn't go past the sweet chick from the Saleabration 'Honeycomb Happiness' stamp set. I decided to create a little hen house treat holder to go with the chick. I sized a little nest box for the Lindt chocolate hen and used the largest of the 'Lots of Frames' framelits to cut the decorative top on the walls (a bit obsured by the ribbon in the photo). The walls were attached to the front and back of the box and then 2 holes punch in the top to tie the ribbon through. I used the same greeting from 'Circle of Spring' which fits perfectly on the smallest of the fabulous Tags & Labels framelits. The chick has been water coloured on Shimmery White card stock - my favourite for water colouring.

This is a side view of the treat box. I've added some 'straw' in the bottom and you can also fit some small chocolate eggs around the hen as well.

What wonderful inspiration. I love the elegance of your card and after seeing your little gift box I'm off to create some for my family for Easter Sunday. I love the idea of using the tag punch for the top. Thankyou.
