CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop - Celebrating Birthdays!
June 12, 2015
Hi there
It has been a crazy week, with most of my time taken up with making DSP Swatch Books. However, I didn't want to miss this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop where we are focusing on the Birthdays' section (Pages 5 -12) of the new 2015-16 Annual Catalogue. I cut it a bit fine, but I managed to borrow the beautiful 'Birthday Blossoms' stamp set from a lovely friend today. Needless to say, this set is now on my wish list. Apologies for the lighting in the photos, but I ran out of daylight.
You may have come from the blog of Rebecca Benson, but if not, you can start here and hop over to the next blog using the button at the bottom of this post.
I have created a little matching set with the card and sweet spotted glassine bag, perfect for small gifts or treats. I love the new nesting 'Tags & Labels' framelit dies, which make it super easy to create a nicely matted tag. The greeting comes from the new 'Endless Birthday Wishes' set.
I have cased the card on Page 8 fairly closely, using the new 'Lots of Labels' framelits to create the banner for the front of the card. I have extended the length of the banner by cutting a piece of card stock the exact width of the die, so that only the scalloped end is die cut.
The blossom image has been watercoloured in Watermelon Wonder using an Aquapainter and ink pad and punched out with the Pansy Punch. I have wrapped the top of banner with some Tip Top Taupe Spotted Lace Trim and tied Calypso Coral thick baker's twine around the whole card. A little bit of silver sequin trim and a few sparkles finish it off.

I love what you did with this card! I would love to share this on my blog for 'My Crafty Friends Monday' (a round up of amazing cards from amazing stampers!) in the next few weeks! Please let me know if you would prefer that I didn't share it (of course I give you credit and link back to your blog!).

What an exquisite card, Judy! I love the colours you've used so much better than in the catalogue version, and the lace, twine and sequins are great too.
