CASE-ing the Catty - Anything Goes!
June 05, 2015
Hi there
It's Friday evening of a long weekend here in Melbourne, so time for the CASE-ing the Catty Crew to bring you more inspiration from the Stampin' Up! catalogues. This week it is 'anything goes' so I am going to show you one of the lovely new Hostess sets from the 2015-16 Annual Catalogue and one of the layout options that popped out at me when I was browsing through the catalogue.
You may have come from the blog of the super talented Alison Barclay, but if not, you can start here and hop over to the next blog using the button at the bottom of this post.
I have used lots of new products on this card, including the beautiful Hostess set 'Best Thoughts'. It has the lovely flower image I have used, plus a butterfly and 2 flexible greetings. The flower image was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Early Espresso on Shimmery White card stock before watercolouring with an Aquapainter and ink pads.
I have framed the completed image by attaching it with foam pads underneath the die cut oval. More foam pads around the edges attached this layer to the base card, both in Tip Top Taupe. I cut a separate narrow oval frame in Watermelon Wonder to enhanced the 'framed' look. This style has been used quite a lot in the samples in the new catalogue and you can see examples on pages 11, 25, 26 and 37. It is a nice alternative to matting your image.
I have finished it off with a bow in Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim and a sentiment from Petite Pairs. The lace trim is so soft and easy to tie into a bow. The little flag in the top corner was cut from the new Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack in Early Espresso script, topped with a Watermelon Wonder Blossom Accent.
