Lacy Butterflies
January 19, 2015
Hello
I'm really enjoying creating with more of the products from the new Occasions Catalogue. In particular, the 'Hello You' and 'Butterflies' thinlits. These 2 products together will enable you to make some simple and pretty cards.
I made a few of this next card to say hello to some customers. The second to largest butterfly was die cut from a piece of the lovely 'Something Borrowed' DSP and then layered on a Strawberry Slush card base. A second butterfly was die cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and put into the space with a couple of glue dots. After die cutting the 'hello' greeting, I ran it through my Xyron and attached it to the card. Some bling to finish and that is it. You can't really see the sparkle of the butterfly in the photo, but it is lovely.
This close-up gives you a better look. It is pretty with the strawberry slush peaking through the wings.
This next card was a thank you for my lovely MIL who gave me money for Christmas to buy Stampin' Up! goodies. Gotta love that! She loves the teal colours, so I have used Bermuda Bay for the base card. For a tone on tone look I white embossed the 'Something Lacy' stamp onto Pool Party card stock. Did you notice it is the same design as the 'Something Borrowed' DSP? This time I finished it with one of the new 'Something Borrowed' embellishments, which matches the shape of the butterfly perfectly. This is such a gorgeous intricate butterfly die.
