Festival of Trees Treat Box

Hello

Today I am sharing one of the projects I designed for my Festival of Trees Tutorial Bundle.

My idea for this cute bomboniere (or bonbonniere, depending on your choice of spelling ) was to combine a place card for your Christmas table with a cute box to hold some treats or a small gift.  The tree in the Festival of Trees stamp set put me on the path of a triangular shaped box in similiar proportions to the tree stamps and I have sized it specifically with the 3-D tree embellishment in mind.

All 12 of the projects in my Festival of Trees Tutorial Bundle use the colours that coordinate with the lovely 'All is Calm' DSP, but of course, you can make them in any colour to coordinate with your Christmas table decor.

I have chosen to print out the names with my PC and printer and then punch them out with the Decorative Label punch. However, they would also look lovely done by hand if you like your handwriting. A bit of sponging and overstamping with the star/snowflake from the  'Endless Wishes' stamp set helps to blend the label into the theme.  It looks just as cute without the name label, if you prefer, highlighting the embossed stars.

One end of the box is sealed and the other opens to reveal the treats. It would easily fit a small gift if you prefer.

In addition to the bomboniere, my Festival of Trees Tutorial Bundle of 5 PDF files contain step by step instructions with photos for the following projects:

  • A Card Gift Pack (holds 6 standard sized cards and C6 envelopes)
  • 4 Card designs + Bonus card design
  • 5 Tag designs
  • Gift Card Holder (5" x 4" and fits into a standard envelope)

It's time to get your Santa on!

Hi there

We are well and truly on the downhill run to Christmas, so now is the perfect opportunity to create some of these super cute Santa tube toppers. They make fabulous stocking stuffers or gifts for your kids to give their friends (and teachers!).

Santa_Toppers_Bucket

I filled mine with Christmas coloured M & Ms, which are now available in buckets from supermarkets (but there are other sweets that fit the tubes as well). I made 24 from a  bucket, but you could get more depending on how many you put in the cellophane tube.

I will be running a class to make these Santa toppers on Friday 14 November, 2014 from 7.30pm. You will receive a kit with one Santa punched, embossed and ready to assemble so I can show you how it goes together.  Then you can punch, emboss, sponge (and assemble if you wish) as many as you can cut from the materials kit provided as part of the class fee (does not include the M & Ms !).  I will give you tips on how to get the most from your materials and you will get my step-by-step tutorial to take home so you can assemble the remainder.

There are limited seats, so if you would like to have a fun evening and get into some Christmas spirit, then please contact me to reserve your place.

If you don't live nearby, then I have some other options for you.  You can purchase my step-by-step tutorial. The cost of the tutorial is $5.00 AUD and can be purchased by clicking on the PayPal button below.

Alternatively, you can purchase a kit with the punched and embossed pieces for you to assemble at home (includes the clear cellophane tubes, but not the M & Ms !). You will also receive my step-by-step tutorial. Postage cost is within Australia only.

I hope you can join me for this fun class.

Have a great weekend.

Mini Calendar Projects

Hi there

With the end of the year bearing down on us, it is time to start thinking about gifts for your children's teachers, work colleagues and neighbours.

In our class last week we made these cute projects with mini calenders that would be perfect for teacher or colleague gifts. The first one is a calendar to put on the refrigerator. The 'All Abloom' and 'Moonlight' paper stacks are perfect for this project as there are heaps of coordinating designs and you can get multiple calendars from one set of pages.

The next one is a cute triangular desk calendar that folds flat for posting. It would be lovely to include with your Christmas/New year card.

I have used the spotted print from 'Gold Soiree' Designer Series Paper and matted the calendar with Gold Foil paper to match. You could put matching DSP on the reverse side, but I decided to make use of the space by listing the Victorian Public Holidays. You could also use the space for school term dates.

The last project was this easel combining the calendar and a sticky note pad. This would be very useful for colleagues or in the home office. This could be easily adapted for a more male oriented version.
