World of Dreams Birthday

Hi there

Today I have a birthday card I made for a lovely friend using the 'World of Dreams' stamp set. I decided to use Rich Razzleberry for a change and then looked at the Colour Coach which suggested a pairing with Lost Lagoon and Pink Pirouette.  I decided to go with it and I think it works.  I have added in Crumb Cake with my favourite 'I Love Lace' background stamp. Don't the flowers look sweet with the pearls lightly coloured with Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities.

This is the inside:

  2. You can substitute another embossing folder to the same value as ‘Lucky Stars’, if you already own it.
  3. You can substitute another colour for ‘Lost Lagoon’, if you already own it.

Other products used in the projects:

  • Scalloped Tag Topper PunchI have used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch for a super quick, pretty and professional finish to my tags.
  • Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack -  I have used the star punch from this pack extensively in the tutorial projects. If you already have the retired Merry Minis Punch Pack, then the star punch from that pack will be perfect as well.

Amazing Birthday

Hi there

Today I have a card for a teen birthday using the 'Amazing Birthday' stamp set.  I haven't inked this set up since Convention, but it is perfect for a masculine birthday. I started by using Versamark ink on the 'Postively Chevron' background stamp to add some pizzazz to the Pacific Point card base.

The large image from 'Amazing Birthday' has been inked with multiple colours. You can do this with markers direct to the rubber, but I masked off sections and then used my ink pads to colour the stamp. This stamp lends itself to stamping sections in different colours and then popping them on foam pads to add dimension.

On the inside I have created a little pocket to place  some cash, so it isn't going to fall out when the card is opened. You could also put a gift card into the pocket.

Project Details
Stamps Amazing Birthday, Positively Chevron
Card stock & Papers     Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Brights Backgrounds DSP Stack,
Ink Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango
Accessories Brights Candy Dots
Tools     Extra Large Oval punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Square punches (retired), Balloon die (not SU), Timeless Type Alphabet (retired), Banners Framelits, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Pacific Point marker

World Card Making Day Blog Hop

Hi there

Today is World Card Making Day, so I am getting together with some friends and fellow Demonstrators to bring you a blog hop to celebrate the day and provide some creative inspiration for your card making. You may have come to my blog from the lovely  Kate Morgan, but if not, you can start here and keep hopping around!

I love making cards and I think a handmade card is still the nicest way to express our feelings, whether that be happiness, gratitude or sometimes sorrow.  Who doesn't like getting happy mail? Today I have made a card to tell a friend that I am thankful for her friendship and support and it will be winging its way to her very soon. I hope she likes it.

I haven't used the 'Stippled Blossoms' stamp set for ages so it was nice to break it out again. I really love the detail that you get with 2-step stamps.  I truly miss 'Pretty in Pink' which was my all time favourite colour to use with this set. This time I have used Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush which I was quite happy with, and Pink Pirouette on the mat and ribbon to keep it bright.

Project Details
Stamps Hardwood, Merry Everything, Stippled Blossoms
Card stock & Papers     Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer paper
Ink Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Pink Pirouette
Accessories Basic Pearls, Pink Pirouette Seam Binding ribbon
Tools     Deco Framelits, Big Shot, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Stampamajig, Dimensionals, Sponge dauber

The next stop on the Blog Hop is the lovely Kathryn Mangelsdorf in SA. Don't forget to check out all the creations and leave us a bit of 'blog love' on the way through.
