Fresh Tulips

Hi there

It has been a very busy week with events and work, so this is the first chance I have had to show you this card made with the new 'Blessed Easter' stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue.

I have chosen to use the lovely outline tulip image without the Easter greeting, opting instead for something a bit more flexible, but it could still be used for Easter as well as many other occasions.  This is a wood mount only stamp, so I have separated the greeting from the tulips which are mounted on the wood block and the sentiment I can use on as a clear mount stamp. I think it makes the stamp more flexible to have them separated.

I have coloured the tulips with Copics using a bright spring yellow and then paired it with Tempting Turquoise and a dash of silver. I think it is a really fresh combination. The greeting is from the 'A Round Array' stamp set from the Annual Catalogue.

I have also decorated the inside, with the same DSP, some embossing a hint of silver.

Tag Topper Easter Treat Box

Hi there

Today I have another simple and cute box made with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. I have turned this into an Easter gift filled with yummy Lindt bunnies and eggs, but it would also be suitable for tea light candles, lip balms or mini soaps.

This box starts off as a rectangular piece of card stock and with a few score lines and snips and of course the fabulous Scalloped Tag Topper punch transforms into this 2" x 2" x 4" gift box. I have layered the lovely floral from the Sweet Sorbet' DSP (FREE with a $90 order during Sale-a-bration) over the Crisp Cantaloupe base and die cut the oval window into the front of the box before assembling it.  I have used a small piece of Window Sheet (acetate) to cover the window, but you could leave it open if you are using a cellophane bag to hold the contents.

This shows the top of the box without the ribbon and tag. The side flaps fold in at the centre to give a neat, but easy to access closing ensuring that none of the contents will escape.

The Scalloped Tag Topper punch is designed to work with a 2" wide strip, but don't forget that you can also use it with smaller widths as well, to take advantage of the neat opening it creates for your tie. I have turned over the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and centred the end of my 1" banner to create a perfect matching top for the tag. I rounded off the edges with paper snips. Just a note to be careful when using this punch upside down, to ensure you don't pinch your hand or fingers in the process!

Fabulous 50

Hi there

I have a 50th birthday card for you today, using the Dress Up framelits and the wonderful sentiment from the stamp set 'Million and One'.  I wanted it to be a bit fun, but elegant as well for this significant milestone birthday for a dear friend.   I also made the same card for an 18th birthday, using the young lady's favourite colour.

The colour combo is elegant black, white  and silver with 'Bermuda Bay'. The sentiment has been heat embossed in black for extra punch and of course, some bling to finish. I also trimmed down the legs of the dress form as I find them a bit overwhelming.
