Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop
January 28, 2014
Hi there
Today I’m excited to bring you a Blog Hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! team. Today is the first day of the brand new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Seasonal Catalogue in Australia and also the very first day of our biggest promotion of the year, Saleabration! If you place an order with me during Saleabration, you can choose a FREE item with every $90 you spend in one transaction. There are lots of fabulous free items to choose from (ask me for a brochure and an Occasions Catalogue) and the promotion goes right through until March 31st.
Better still, become part of our fun, friendly and supportive Art With Heart team. We have a really large team Australia wide that has been around since Stampin’ Up! came to Australia. We have a very active team forum and also have in person stamp days, challenges, card swaps, product shares and more. When you join during Saleabration, you get to choose whatever you like from our catalogues, but pay just $169 for $255 worth of product (that’s a 33% discount!). It’s quick and easy to join online too. Ask me how!
Now let’s get into showing what you can make with the great new products in the Occasions and Saleabration catalogues. You may have come to my blog from my lovely friend Christine Blain, but if not you can start here and keep going.
If you are a regular visitor to my blog you know that I love creating 3-D projects, so one of the items in the new Occasions Catalogue that jumped out at me right way, was the Simply Created Wreath Kit - Burlap and Blooms (Page 21).
The kit (shown left) has everything you need to create a lovely piece of home decor. It is fun to put together and is a great price as well at $29.95.
I have put my own touches on it, as we all do when we create something from a kit. I wanted to add a bit more dimension, so I covered the wreath with thin wadding before I wrapped the burlap around it. This gives it a more rounded look. I also sponged the edges of all the flatter flowers, to give them more depth.
The colours of the blooms in the kit are Soft Sky, Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calyspso Coral and So Saffron. Here is my finished wreath, which I have hung in my craft room. I'm happy with the way it turned out and it makes me smile when I look at all those lovely blooms!
I have also added some roses to my wreath, using the fabulous new 'Spiral Flower Die' (Page 32). I cut them from Whisper White and then sponged the edges with coordinating colours. Here are some close up photos of the flowers.
You definitely need to use a hot glue gun for this project, preferably one with a small tip as you don't want big blobs of glue on the backs of the petals. I would also recommend the Silicone Mat, as it protects your work surface and makes clearing up stray blobs of glue a snap.
There is an extra piece of burlap in the kit to hang the wreath sling style, but instead I added the bow and created a small tab and sewed a 'D' ring on the back to hang it.
The second project I have for you, uses the fabulous new 'Scalloped Tag Topper' punch (Page 35). I came up with this cute little box to thank the ladies who attended my class last week. It is easy to make with your Simply Scored tool and the scalloped top is so easy with the punch. I have used the cute 'Mini Metallic Clothespins' (Page 37) to keep the top closed, but you could thread ribbon through the opening that is also made by the punch. The mini clothespins are surprisingly strong, given their size of 1 inch.
The one on the left has been embellished with the 'Retro Fresh DSP' (Page 19) edged with Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon and the gorgeous Spiral Rose that I have sponged with Calypso Coral ink.
For a less feminine look, the one on the right has a band of 'Retro Fresh This and That Washi Tape' (Page 19) adhered to Very Vanilla card and edged with the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon border punch. This is the side view of the boxes.
That's it from me, so let’s keep this Blog Hop hopping. Next up we have another lovely friend Nikki Sadler to share her projects. Don't forget to leave everyone some 'blog love' on the way through!
You can email me to get a copy of the Occasions Catalogue or Saleabration brochure sent to you, or to enquire about joining the Art With Heart team. You can also order any of the products in the Occasions Catalogue right now through the link to my Online Store at the top of the page and have them delivered right to your door.

Very pretty wreath Judy! The extra padding is a great idea and your flowers are beautiful. Your little tab boxes are cute too. Retro Fresh is a favourite of mine and I love all the little details you have added. Hope you enjoy your upcoming classes. You have lots of talent to share.
