The Little Black Bag(s)
December 29, 2013
Hi there
What is the next best thing to the little black dress? The little black bag of course! I used this tutorial from Sam Donald to create these little black bags for friends this Christmas. The box is made from a 12 x 12 sheet using the fabulous Envelope Punch Board. I have used black card stock for the base to make it more robust to hold the weight of the contents I wanted to put in them. The black and vanilla combo of the 'Modern Medley' DSP is very elegant, with embossed vanilla trim on the sides and lots of bling. I was really happy with the way they turned out.
This is a better view of the trim on the sides. I added the handle and then put the vanilla embossed trim over the top.
They are a really good size and perfect to fit a couple of blocks of the Lindt Creation chocolate (stamper's stash in hiding!). Actually 3 blocks will fit, but it is easier to get them out with only 2 inside.
Here is a slightly different version with an embossed vanilla trim on the front flap and a flower embellishment.
Finally, here is a bright and fresh version in white and Coastal Cabana, using the 'Eastern Elegance' DSP for a couple of other friends.
Here is the side view.
If you are going to make this project, I suggest that you create a sample of the box first. That way you can learn from your mistakes before you use your ultimate card stock or DSP. I made a slight adjustment to the instructions provided to make it work for me.
