Merry Monday #34

Hi there

I was doing some colouring on the weekend and this poinsettia image was on my desk when the latest Merry Monday #34 sketch popped in my In Box, so it formed the basis for my card today.  Here is the sketch:

I used the debossed side of the lovely new Lacy Brocade embossing folder for the background, with Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green for a traditional colour combination.  The poinsettia spray is from the 'Bells & Boughs' stamp set  and coloured in cream tones with a touch of the green in the veins.

Merry Monday #33

Hi there

The card I have for you today is based on this week's Merry Monday #33 sketch.  If you haven't started your Christmas cards yet, then these weekly sketches are a great way to kick start your stash. Did you know there are only 95 days left until Christmas? There are lots of lovely new holiday products in the latest Annual and Holiday Catalogues from Stampin' Up!, so no excuses for not finding something to get you inspired.  Here is the sketch:

The colour combo is quite a contrast to the jewel colours I have used recently in my Christmas cards, but still quite rich.  I have kept to Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Raspberry Ripple that make up the design in the background paper from the 'Candlelight Christmas' Speciality DSP pack. This is definitely one that you need to see to fully appreciate. The lovely new Champagne Glimmer paper adds sparkle.

I have used the new 'Evergreen' stamp set for the main panel. The solid tree image has been stamped in Crumb Cake ink and then the words of 'Silent Night' have been stamped over it in Versamark and then heat embossed with the new Early Espresso embossing powder.  This is a very fine script font, but it is very clear to read after embossing.

Get Well Wishes

Hi there

It has been way too long since my last post, so I hope things will return to normal soon.  I had a great time in W.A. catching up with family and friends (waving Karen and FionaBye ).  Lots to do when I got home, with an old school friend of my husband coming to visit as well.  After having a nice time visiting my Mum and being able to go out and do a few things for the first time in 18 months, I got the bad news that she had fallen in the bathroom and broken her ankle and leg. So after getting on her feet again after 3 knee replacements, she now has her other leg in plaster for the next 6 weeks.

This card is for Mum, hopefully to cheer her up as she is still in hospital at the moment. I have used lots of new products from the recently released Annual Catalogue.  Unfortunately, I had to take the photo in artificial light, as I was rushing to get it in the mail.

There is lots to love in the new Annual Catalogue, but the new paper piercing templates that match the Framelits make it easy to add extra interest to your project. The Primrose Petals stitched satin ribbon is lovely to work with and coordinates well with Rose Red if you want something a little lighter in colour.
