Easter Trimmings
April 07, 2012
Hello
I hope you are enjoying a safe and peaceful Easter, where ever you may be.
Today I have a sweet Easter basket to share with you, made with the Scallop Envelope die. This is a sturdy basket of good size - 3 1/4" square; very easy to make and great fun to decorate. I used this tutorial at Splitcoaststampers to make the basic box. These would be lovely on your Easter dinner table to hold any manner of treats.
I made my basket with Pool Party cardstock and then decorated it with the lovely Pool Party check and floral designs from the 'Domestic Goddess' DSP. I cut the scallop edged flaps separately from the floral, by putting a small piece of DSP over that section of die and holding it in place with a small piece of tape. The Lace Ribbon border punch makes a lovely handle and I have added some small flowers in Calypso Coral with a little pearl centre. I used glue dots to adhere the flowers and covered them underneath with a small circle, so they won't stick to your hands. By keeping the handle shorter, you can maintain the nice rounded shape. The flowers and bows have been used to pin the side flaps to the box.
Here is a close up of the side view:
