A Little Bit Retro

Hi there

The card I have for you today is a bit different from my usual colour choices and a bit retro.  I have used the Just Add Ink #110 sketch challenge and a new stamp set called 'Bright Blossoms' that will be coming in the new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue starting on 1 April 2012. Here is the sketch:

JAI110_Sketch
This is the card I came up with.  I used one of Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards as it suited the scale of the vase image.  I quite like the bold retro look, although it is somewhat outside my comfort zone.

Freshly Made #26

Hi there

I'm not sure where my weekend went, but it did, too quickly!  In summary, too much housework and gardening and not enough creating. This is something I will have to remedy next weekend.

The card I have for you today uses last weeks Freshly Made #26 sketch. It is another versatile sketch and I have made it into an Easter card using the cute 'Everybunny' stamp set and Domestic Goddess Designer Paper.  Here is the sketch:

I have resisted buying the Domestic Goddess DSP, but have succumbed to the sweet Pool Party & Calypso Coral floral and plaid designs. A two inch square in the IBC does not do this paper justice.  I have followed through the same colours for the cute bunny and mushroom images. The embossed strip of hearts across the top is from a new set of embossing folders called 'Adorning Accents', coming in the new Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue shortly.

Freshly Made #25

Hello

Just a quick post as I am back to work this week. I'm not looking forward to trawling through hundreds of emails, but you do what you have to do, to support your (craft) habit!

I have missed the deadline on this one, but I wanted to share with you the card that I made with last weeks great sketch from Freshly Made .  These are versatile sketches that you can dress up or keep simple.   I have used some more of the designs from the lovely 'Twitterpated' DSP. It is great to have a design in Basic Gray that is also suitable for less feminine cards. My husband often requests thank you cards from my stash, but doesn't want anything too feminine looking, so I hope that this one will fit the bill.  Here is the sketch I used:

Sketch_25_Small
I have flipped the sketch on its back for something a bit different and took some liberty in the placement of the ribbon, but other than that, I have stayed close to the layout.  The image from the Sale-a-bration set 'Fresh Vintage' has been embossed and despite the detail in the stamp, it renders beautifully. Here it is:

Project Details
Stamps Fresh Vintage (Sale-a-bration set), Petite Pairs
Card stock & Papers Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Basic Gray, Twitterpated DSP

Tools     Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, 1", 1 1/8" (not SU) and 1 1/4" Circle punches,  Dimensionals, Black embossing powder, heat gun

Easter Wishes

Hi there

It has been a while since I have done a Mojo Monday challenge, so I thought I would take advantage of my remaining holiday time to make an Easter card with this week's sketch 231.  I don't often make Easter cards, mainly because I don't get myself organised in time.  I purchased the (now retired) 'Easter Blossoms' stamp set last year and never got to use it, so it is now or never!  This is the sketch this week, which I have turned into a square card:

Mojo_Monday_321
The lovely branch of cherry blossom determined the colours I have used, allowing me to indulge in a number of shades of my favourite colour - pink!  Although Easter is in Autumn in Australia, Easter cards are still generally in pastel colours. This what I came up with:

MojoMonday_231

Project Details
Stamps Easter Blossoms
Card stock & Papers Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Crumb Cake Patterns, Elegant Soiree DSP (Retired)
Ink Stazon Timber Brown, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette
Accessories Pale Pink Seam Binding ribbon (not SU), Basic Pearls
Tools     Circle Nestabilites, Tasteful Trim Die, Big Shot, Designer Label punch, Itty Bitty Punch pack, Corner rounder punch, Dimensionals, Stampin' Write Markers (Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip), Blender pen, Crimper, White gel pen, Glue Dots, sponge dauber

Thanks for stopping by.

Clean & Simple 180

Hi there

The card I have for you today is based on this week's Clean & Simple Sketch 180.  It was a grey and cold day in Melbourne on Saturday and perfect for a spot of colouring. This is the sketch:

CAS180

I have used the flower from the Hostess set 'Simply Soft', matched with Wisteria Wonder patterns and Concord Crush.  This isn't a combination I have used before, but I think it works with the colour of the flowers. I have given the large butterfly and the base of the sentiment a spritz of (homemade) Champagne shimmer mist to take the edge off the colour. Here it is:

  CAS_180

Project Details
Stamps Simply Soft (Hostess set), Precious Butterflies (Hostess set)
Card stock & Papers Concord Crush, Whisper white, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder Patterns, Xpress-IT Blending card

Tools     Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Big Shot, Doily Lace punch (not SU), 1", 1 1/8" (not SU) and 1 1/4" Circle punches,  Dimensionals, Champagne Shimmer Mist, Copics (V01, BV13, G82)

Have a great day!
