JAI 53 - Inspiration Challenge
January 30, 2011
Hello
I hope you have your sunglasses handy, because you are going to need them for this card! Just Add Ink have an Inspiration Challenge this week, with the image below being the inspiration.
My first thoughts were bright, floral and frilly. The card I came up with has bright layers of card stock and DSP reminiscent of a flamenco skirt. It is topped off with a pumpkin pie ribbon and melon mambo flower - told you sunglasses were required! I've used the MFT jumbo scallop die to create the layers, with the crimper used on the card stock for added texture and to enhance the layered effect. To create the melon mambo flower, I've punched out three scallop circles and then distressed the pieces until it was easy to split the card stock in two. I've alternated the smooth and furry sides to give two colour tones (doesn't show in the photo) and then spritzed them with water and crunched them up.
This card is definitely not one for the normal post, so I will probably make a box for it. Here are the details.
