Thinking of You
April 16, 2010
Hello
You may have guessed that I’m really enjoying the new products from the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. There isn’t much on this card that isn’t out of the new catalogue!
I have made this card for my Mum who is back in hospital in Perth to have her knee replacement done for a second time. This is one of those horror stories of hospital acquired antibiotic resistant infections that has taken 15 months to resolve (hopefully). She had surgery on Monday but woke up to find that they decided not to go ahead until they did more pathology on ‘stuff’ they found in her knee. She has to wait another 5 days to find out whether there is still an infection present. I hope this card will brighten her day.
The base card is Pale Plum which I think is a great coordinating colour for the new Cottage Wall DSP. It is a lot softer than Orchid Opulence and matches really well with the pattern on the DSP. Unfortunately, Pale Plum is one of the colours we will be losing as a result of the Colour Renovation (more on that later) that will occur with the release of the new 2010-11 Idea Book & Catalogue in September. Don't worry there will be plenty of time to stock up on the retiring colours.
The centre panel is based on the Top Note die cut from Whisper White. The vine from Vintage Vogue has been stamped in the corners. The sentiment panel is a tag cut using the Big Shot and the Lots of Tags die set. I cut a second tag from Whisper white and cut out the oval and stamped it and popped it up in the centre. The bird was cut with the new XL Two Step Bird punch. You can cut the shapes from one piece of card or DSP or the individual shapes from smaller pieces. The full details of the products used are below.
