A Touch of Nature
March 12, 2010
Hi there
I am writing this in hot, hot Perth. My lovely mother-in-law Betty is 85 years young today so we are in Perth to help her celebrate this milestone. We are taking her and 12 of her friends to lunch at the C Restaurant which is a revolving restaurant on the 33rd floor of St. Martin's Tower in the CBD. It provides a fabulous all-around view of Perth and with some yummy food I hope it will be an occasion for her to remember. It is my Mum's birthday today as well and she will be 79. I'll be visiting her in Busselton in a few days time.
I wanted Betty's card to be a bit special so decided to go with a Step Card which I hadn't made before. This is based on a tutorial from the lovely Jenny Moors. I have used the retired stamp set 'Touch of Nature' which I still love. I don't think there has been another combination of nature stamps as good as this one. I have used markers direct to rubber for the branches and bird on Whisper White and then stamped another bird, the flowers and butterfly on watercolour paper in Stazon Timber Brown. I used an aqua painter and Watercolour Crayons to colour them before cutting out and popping them up on Dimensionals. I'm pleased with the result and hope she likes it as well. The full details are below.

Have a lovely weekend.
I love this set too and especially appreciate all the details you gave on how you used it. Your card is in my "favorites file" on SCS! Thanks.
