Raspberry Delights

Hi Everyone

I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend. It was very chilly here in Melbourne and no rain, unfortunately. On the Mojo Monday website this week I found a link to the Verve monthly challenge for June, comprising 5 card sketches. After looking at these I decided to set myself a challenge to make all 5 using the yummy Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper and the matching cardstock. So in between the chores, I found time to make the first two cards.

The first is a square card which is one of my favourite shapes and gives plenty of real estate to work with. I have used the Embrace Life and Eastern Blooms stamp sets to make the centre panel. The flowers were stamped and cut out and then raised on dimensionals for depth. The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess set Best Yet. I have used this set a lot because it works so well with the Stampin' Up! punches. The rest is pretty straightforward and the details are below.

Stamps

Embrace Life, Eastern Blooms, Best Yet (Level 1 Hostess)

Cardstock & Papers

Bazzill White, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DSP

Ink

Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Cameo Coral

Accessories

Kaiser flat back pearls (two sizes)

Tools

The second card is very girly, but I love the combination of Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss with the Raspberry Tart DSP.  I have used the lovely brocade diamond from the Friends 24-7 stamp set, stamped off first, in the centre of the oval and then stamped the sentiment from Best Yet over the top in Rose Red . I have added a Kiwi Kiss button from Button Bouquet which I tied with some matching stranded cotton from my extensive collection from my cross stitching days. Here it is, I hope you like it.

Monday is normally my day off, but I am working so that I can have Friday off instead. Thursday night is my favourite night of the month - Stamp Club when us girls get together and chat, nibble, laugh and off course stamp! It is generally a late night so being able to sleep in on Friday is sooooo good.

I hope to be back later in the week with more Raspberry Delights.

Judy.

Vanilla & Roses

Hi again

I have a quick and simple card to show you today using one of my favourite stamp sets - A Rose Is a Rose.  A card from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue was the initial inspiration and particularly the Bella's Border design which is classic and elegant. I stamped the rose bud directly onto the base card while the main flower (mounted on dimensionals) and leaves were stamped separately and cut out. The Bella's Border was stamped in Versamark, which works really well on dark coloured cardstock for a tone-on-tone effect. The rest is pretty self evident and the specific details are below.

Stamps

A Rose Is a Rose, All Year Cheer I (Retired), Bella’s Border wheel

Bring on the weekend!

Elegant Sweet Pea

Hi Everyone

I hope you had a nice weekend.  It always goes so quickly and I never seem to get everything I want done.  Today I want to share with you the card that I made for last week's Mojo Monday Sketch #91. I didn't make it in time to link, but never mind.  This was an interesting one, with the shape of the card being tall and narrow. I made my base from Kraft (the first time I have used it - I hear Christine gasping in shock and horror!!) 21cm square, giving a 10.5 cm x 21cm card that fits into a standard DL sized envelope.  I got the colour combo from the 09-10 Stampin' Up! Colour combos they put together for the In Colors (so hate leaving out the 'u'). You can download it from my Tips & Hints page. If you are in need of some colour inspiration, it is a great place to start.

The main colours are Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette and I have added in the Elegant Eggplant and Sage Shadow for some contrast.  The result is soft and muted, but elegant I think. The Sweet Pea image comes from the Echoes of Kindness Level 2 Hostess stamp set. The Perfect Plum layer has been stamped with French Script (now retired and replaced by En Francais) in Versamark. I have used two Cuttlebug A2 embossing folders - Swiss Dots and Bird Call. The sentiment is from the really versatile Short & Sweet stamp set which is great value at $29.95 for 6 sentiments and 6 matching icons. Here it is and the details are below.

Bright Blooms

Hi Everyone

Well, I did ask you to have your sunnies ready for this one as it is pretty bright.  I have used the pot of flowers from the Bloomin' with Beauty stamp set. This is one of my favourites for water colouring with the Stampin' Up! Watercolour crayons and the Aqua Painter. These are fabulous because every colour from the four primary Stampin' Up! colour ranges is represented. It is hard to see from the photo, but I have used the (unfortunately) retired Linen background and sponged the edges with Pretty in Pink. The watercoloured flowers and the mount were cut out with the Nestabilities circle and scallop circle dies. The centre panel has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and mounted on Kiwi Kiss with the Kiwi Kiss grosgrain tied around it. The scalloped circle has been mounted on Dimensionals for depth as has the sentiment.  I hope you like it.

Flower Fusion for Mojo Monday

Hi Everyone

I'm pleased to say that I managed a few hours of stamping on my day off today. Last week's Mojo Monday sketch #90 put me outside my comfort zone well and truly. I missed the cut off time, but decided to push on and try and produce something with it.  I have used the verse from the Echoes of Kindness Level 2 Hostess Set for the centre panel, but the Flower Fusion felt flowers really provide the main focus. They are really lovely intense colours.
