I've just returned from 2 weeks away visiting family and friends in Western Australia. I had a lovely time, but it has left me scrambling to get ready for Christmas. I hope you are feeling more organised and relaxed that I am, lol.
Today, I'm sharing another gift card holder option. My husband declared that he didn't like gift cards as there was nothing to unwrap on Christmas morning. I took up the challenge today as I needed to post off a parcel that included gift cards.
I used my Envelope Punch Board to make a box that holds the gift cards that come on a backing card, such as those for music and retail stores. I added some DSP to decorate the front and a belly band holds it closed. I used one of the tags from my Box of Tags project, as a topper on the belly band. A glue dot just under the twine allows the tag to be lifted up to see your greeting. This is how it looks closed.
Here I've removed the belly band and you can see the gift card fits snugly in the box. You could probably fit a treat in the box as well.
I made a second one using another of the DSP designs from 'Candy Cane Lane' and another of my tags as a topper for the belly band.
If you would like to make one of these, cut a piece of card stock 8 1/8" x 8 1/8". Make your first punch at 4 1/8" and the second punch at 4 7/8". Turn the card stock and line up the pointer on the 2 score lines and punch and score. Complete on the remaining sides and use the corner rounder on the 4 corners. Decorate the front of the box and then assemble. For the belly band cut a strip of card stock 1 1/2" x 10".
Thanks for looking!
