More Christmas Ideas

Thank you to everyone who left lovely comments on my blog for the 'Christmas in July' Blog Hop.  It is great to know that I have provided some inspiration to get you started on your Christmas cards.  The way the year is flying, you can't start your preparations for the holiday season too early. I'm certainly going to take my own advice this year as I was caught short last year. I like to make a few of each design so that I build up my stock but don't get bored.

While I had Christmas stamps on my craft desk I had a bit more of a play and have a couple of cards to show you.  The first one uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set as a background for the reindeer from the Winter Post set. It is amazing how many stamp sets that are not overtly Christmas can be used in your Christmas cards. As you may have noticed, I love Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive together - it is a lovely rich combination for Christmas. The sentiment comes from the Heard from the Heart stamp set from the Autumn/Winter Mini.

The second card is a different colour scheme using the Holiday Treasures DSP and matching cardstock Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive.  Ruby Red is one of the colours that will be retiring in the colour renovation that will be launched with the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue on 1 September 2010.  It is a colour that I will miss, so I will be stocking up before then. This is a simple design that lends itself to a lot of uses.  In this card, each square is a miniature vignette of Christmas.

It is great to be able to post during the week, the reason being that I'm on holidays - yay! The weather isn't fantastic, but it doesn't matter. I just have to make sure I don't get sucked into too much housework!

I do admire the cutout of Dasher... do you have any tip to share please? I never can get the intricate cuts...

Both cards are lovely Judy, but my favourite is the Holiday Treasures one, excellent cutting skills on that tiny reindeer, must have been difficult.Hope you enjoyed your hols.
