Christmas in July Blog Hop

This month the theme is 'Christmas in July' and the weather in Melbourne has been perfect for the traditional Christmas roast dinner with all the trimmings! Now that we are into July, the countdown to Christmas has begun.  I always think I have heaps of time, then the next thing it is November and I'm rushing to get organised. I'm hoping this will be an incentive to make a new design each month so I build up my Christmas card stash.

This month I have been flat out with work so I decided to go for something simple, mainly using products from the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. The colours are not strictly traditional, but I think the end result is still fairly classic. 

 

Stampin' Write markers direct to the rubber were used on the pine cone stamp from the Autumn Days stamp set.  A bit of bling has been added to the edges of the pine cones using a glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter, but this hasn't shown up well on the photo. The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold.

I made some matching gift cards using the same products. The To/From sentiment is from the Winter Post stamp set.  I found the words a bit close together to be useful so I cut them in half and placed them on the edges of the block.
